Shining Stars Academy’s goal is to provide safe, affordable but high quality, developmentally appropriate child care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. We focus on helping children become social, well-educated, independent and self-confident in the quest for learning.

It is the philosophy of Shining Stars Academy that children be encouraged to learn and grow by providing a foundation of developmentally appropriate experiences where all children can succeed in a safe, friendly, educational, and loving environment. We believe each child is a unique individual and recognize children’s varied abilities, interests, needs, and learning styles. At Shining Stars Academy, we believe young children learn best by doing. It requires active thinking, and experimenting, to determine how things work, and to learn firsthand about the world we live in. We encourage the children to acquire and practice new learning skills, which will translate into long term development into areas of cognitive development, literacy and language skills, social, emotional and physical development.

Lisa Griggs - Director
With more than 20 years of experience in childcare and early education, Lisa brings extensive knowledge, passion, and heart to her role as Director of Shining Stars Academy. She holds a Director's License and continues to pursue professional education in Early Childhood Care & Education, reflecting her commitment to growing as a leader and providing high-quality care and education.
As a wife and mother of three, Lisa understands the trust families place in the people caring for their children. She is passionate about creating a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, loved, valued, and encouraged to learn and grow. She believes strong relationships between children, families, and educators are at the heart of a thriving school.
Lisa's vision for Shining Stars Academy is centered on compassion, excellence, and collaboration. She is committed to supporting not only the children in our care, but also the families and teachers who make up our school community. Under her leadership, Shining Stars Academy strives to be a place where children are celebrated, families feel welcomed and supported, and teachers are empowered to do their best work.

Danielle Bailey - Director of Operations
Danielle has been part of Shining Stars Academy for over four years and brings nearly 20 years of experience working with children to her role. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Education, with much of her education and professional experience centered around child development and learning.
Throughout her career, Danielle has worked with children in a variety of settings, including public education, applied behavior analysis, preschool ministry, and childcare. These experiences have shaped her belief that the first five years of a child’s life are some of the most important years for building the foundation for lifelong learning, relationships, and emotional development.
Danielle is especially passionate about social-emotional learning and helping children learn how to understand and manage their emotions, build relationships, and navigate challenging behaviors. She believes there is no such thing as a “bad kid”—only children who are still learning the skills they need. Her goal is to help teachers and families understand the behavior behind the behavior and teach children the tools they need to succeed. At Shining Stars Academy, Danielle is committed to creating an environment where every child feels safe, valued, understood, and capable of growing into their best selves.
